Aviation Security
Aviation Worldwide Training can deliver aircrew security as part of your mixed Initial/Recurrent AOC training package or as a stand alone module.
UK Aviation security is regulated by legislation and provides that airlines and airports must protect passengers, cargo and property.
Airline operators are responsible for providing their crews with the knowledge to protect against threats, disruption and attack. Aircrew security training forms part of the mandatory training modules, necessary to remain compliant with UK CAA training requirements.
Our courses are delivered by DfT UK CAA accredited Instructors and follows the Department for Transport’s National Aviation Security Training Programme guidelines. The course covers the following security modules:
- The Threat to civil aviation
- Objectives and organisation of aviation security
- Hijacking
- Disruptive passengers
- Recognition of firearms, explosives and incendiary devices, and their component parts
- Aircraft Searching
- Bomb warnings assessment and emergency procedures on the ground and in the air
- Handling of the media, during and after the event
Please note that under EU Regulation 185/2010 and the UK Department for Transport, all staff attending Aviation Security training must have completed any relevant background checks prior to attending the course. We would require written confirmation of this prior to the commencement of the training course, therefore, we can provide a template for you to complete at the time of booking.
